Circus Ponies

Introducing EBS Petit Papillion (left) and BLS Laced in Excellence (right)! These are the new additions to Earthenbrook and Badger Lodge Stables. This was a collaboration between myself and =JumpingTheStorm who did the shading and BG while I did the lines, colour and design. This will be a temporary reference until proper ones can be put up

STORY

Before Peggy had inherited Earthenbrook she had a short stunt of employment with Diego of #Badger-Lodge-Stables. After her time with them she had remained good friends with him so when she heard he was going to be in the area she organised to see the local circus that was in town. The circus had everything, trapeze artists to clowns, from monkeys to ponies. Peggy had brought James along also and the three of them sat down and watched the show.

Once the show had concluded James ran outside to play on some of the games the circus had set up while Peggy and Diego sat and had a good long catch up. However it wasnt long before James came running back a sense of haste was about him.

"Mum, MUM! You have to come see this!" James said quite out of breath. Quickly getting up the two adults got up to follow James around to the back of the tents. Then they saw them. Two tiny fillies with unusual markings, looking no older than 2 months old. They were in a terrible condition and a mother was no where to be found for them. It broke Peggy's heart and she knew she had to do something.

"Diego, we have to do something for these poor things. I know you're organising your stable at the moment but what if you take one and I take the other. I can't take both but im sure we can manage them. If you need to i can keep them with me until you're ready to take your filly." pleaded Peggy

"Well I guess I could, but we need to look into these foals, theyre not a natural breed. We can take them back to your stables for now and go from there."

The two stable owners found the man in charge, and after pleading their case the ring master allowed for the to foals to go, He didnt know what to do with the foals after he bought them in Paris. Peggy left and returned an hour later with the two horse float for the two fillies.

Upon returning to Earthenbrook the two fillies were put into a large stable while Diego and Peggy used the stable office to research these two fillies. It turned out that after many hours of researching that these to were Parisian Cabaret Horses, a show breed from Paris. It explained the build and markings the two fillies expressed. These two were also twins which was very surprising.

Returning to the stables Diego decided it would be best for the smaller more frail pink one to remain at Earthenbrook as the trek back to Badger Lodge would be a difficult one. Peggy offered the use of one of her planes to cart the foal to Badger Lodge and Diego gladly accepted the help.

The little blue filly remained at Earthenbrook for another week until finally she was flown to her new home leaving Peggy and the smaller pink one alone. This one was quite small for the breed and also had a significantly smaller left ear, probably due to the fact that she was one of two. She was beautifully timid and Peggy decided to call her Petit Papillion or Little Butterfly, Petit for short.....
